Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered here, please send us an email and we would be happy to get back to you within 48 hours. If your pet needs to be seen, please use the online booking tool.

How much will it cost for my pet to be seen?

Our exam is $89.

This covers a full physical exam by our veterinarian to assess your pet and determine a diagnostic and treatment plan. We will always present an estimate to you prior to proceeding further.

Why can't you tell me an overall "ball park" cost for my pet's visit based on symptoms?

Unfortunately, a physical exam by a veterinarian is necessary to get a full picture of your pet's condition.

Even with the most detailed descriptions of your pet's issue, or even being triaged by one of our experienced veterinary technicians, there are just too many variables for us to just throw out a number without diagnostics.

We take your pet's care seriously and they aren't just a number to us. Please allow us to create an individualized treatment plan for them based on the physical exam.

I work odd hours and your clinic is open when I am available. Can you be my pet's regular vet?

We're flattered, however, we are just not set up for wellness care.

General practice veterinary offices are better equipped to provide lifelong preventative and wellness care for your pet. Should your pet need to see us when your regular vet is closed, we will make sure that they receive your pet's visit notes to keep their records updated.

I made an appointment online, was given a time slot, but I still had to wait for my pet to be seen. Why even book an appointment?

We try to stick to seeing pets in the order that they are checked in, but may deviate from the schedule based on the severity of symptoms from one patient to another.

If this occurs, please be patient with us. One day, it might be your pet who needs expedited care and others may need to wait a bit longer.

As for the reason we ask you to make an appointment on our site/check-in on our kiosk, it is because it allows our technicians to focus on providing care to pets, rather than setting up your pet's account in our system. It also helps us and other pet parents see what potential wait times look like and how we can best prioritize each pet's care based on severity.

Why do you need to take my pet to the treatment area? Can't you just do everything in the exam room?

There are a few reasons for this, actually:

  • Sometimes pets are protective of their owners, which might give you the warm and fuzzies, but for for the veterinary staff and your pet, it can create additional stress and potentially bad outcomes. Add that stress to a tiny room with unknown people and stimuli, and someone might get bit.

    • Yes, it happens...even if the pet has zero history of aggression

    • In cases like this, we don't even blame the pet...we blame ourselves for creating a situation that can be avoided.

  • The supplies or equipment we need is back there and can't fit in an exam room or isn't practical to stock in each exam room

    • X-ray machine, ultrasound, lab equipment and supplies needed to obtain lab samples

    • Our array of Fear Free approved treats and implements used for distraction and desensitization

  • There are extra sets of hands that can help with your pet but we all won't fit in the exam room.

    • Our exam rooms are not big enough for 1-2 pet parents and possibly their family, a vet, and two technicians.

    • Trust when we say this will be uncomfortable for all of us...most of all, your pet.

My pet was seen by your veterinarian and was prescribed flea medication. Can we get it refilled?

Unfortunately, we do not prescribe medications with refills.

The reason for this is that our clinic serves as an urgent care for pets in need. We are just not set up for regular wellness care or continued care. Please follow up with your regular vet to discuss your pet's condition and establish regular care.
